Dadnamics Live! Episode 30 Santa’s Sleigh

Dadnamics Live! 250-Word Takeaway

Christmas was 14 days away and the original plan to was to enjoy a Festive Friday at a local business, which had totally decked-out their property with holiday lights, Santa, cookies, hot cocoa, and much more. I should have known what was in store once we read the “parking” situation for the event. Shuttles and long lines! We sat in our van in misery, looking at the 45+ minute wait and called a “Family Meeting”.

“Okay kids, we can do this event and wait in this line… or we can go do a few errands and get TCBY after (with no lines and a Dadnamics prescription).”

The votes was cast. Goodbye shuttles! Hello hardware store for some gift-making supplies.

As we walked the aisles, I was formulating a plan to simulate the various components of the original Festive Friday. TCBY would cover the sweets. That was easy. But what about the holiday lights and Santa Clause? And then I saw it. Right there in the tile isle was Santa’s Sleigh. It was beautiful and red and shiny and… it was actually a hand truck. It was fun; all four kids enjoyed the ride. We did go to TCBY after the hardware store and even drove through some neighborhoods for the holiday lights.

So we ditched the original plan. So what! We still created memories together and a year from now, when it’s time to choose our holiday plans, I won’t be surprised if they suggest TCBY and the hardware store.

Welcome to Dadnamics Live!

Okay, I’ve been doing this stuff with my kids for years, but it wasn’t until April 2015 that I began recording my Dadnamic Adventures. At first, it was awkward. Not anymore. I now have 30+ video examples of Dadnamics, thus the name of my new YouTube channel and video blog called Dadnamics Live! My goal is to give you ideas, show you the benefits, and to entertain you and your kids. Trust me Dads, you CAN do this thing too…
